Asia-Pacific Conference on Combustion
10-14 December 2017, Sydney

11th Asia-Pacific Conference on Combustion

The Asia-Pacific Conference on Combustion (ASPACC) is a biennial meeting sponsored by the Combustion Institute and organized by members of the Asia-Pacific regional sections. Its goal is to promote exchange of information and to elevate combustion science and technology through regional and global scientific partnership. Following the first conference in Osaka, Japan in 1997, it has been held in Australia, India, Korea and China; with the latest one in Beijing, China in 2015.

The 11th ASPACC will be held in conjunction with the Australian Combustion Symposium. The meeting will be hosted by the Australian Section of the Combustion Institute, and will be held on December 10 to 14, 2017 in Sydney, Australia. The organising committee is spread between The University of Sydney an UNSW Sydney. The conferences will provide a forum for mutual exchange of information in the Asia-Pacific combustion community involved in both fundamental and application oriented research and development works.

Organizers

In 2017, the organsing committee will be spread between The University of Sydney and UNSW Sydney, Australia.

Colloquia

A robust technical program is anticipated as the scope and intensity of combustion research in the Asia-Pacific region has been undergoing rapid expansion in recent years. The 11th ASPACC will bring together scientists and engineers to find out the current state of progress in the topics of interest in combustion science and technology.

The technical program will consist of an opening plenary session which will address the progress and the challenges in a historical context and regular technical sessions covering broad areas on combustion, which include the following:

  • Gas-Phase Reaction Kinetics
  • Soot, Nanomaterials, and Large Molecules
  • Diagnostics
  • Laminar Flames
  • Turbulent Flames
  • Spray, Droplet, and Supercritical Combustion
  • Detonations, Explosions, and Supersonic Combustion
  • Solid Fuel Combustion
  • Fire Research
  • Stationary Combustion Systems and Control of Greenhouse Gas Emissions
  • Internal Combustion Engines
  • Gas turbine and Rocket Engine Combustion
  • Other Concepts

An engaging social program is also being planned to enrich the conference experience.
