Australian and New Zealand Section of the Combustion Institute

The Combustion Institute is an international non-profit, scientific and educational organization, founded in 1954, which serves the purpose to promote and disseminate combustion research. The Australian and New Zealand Section of the Institute organises local Institute activities.

Diverse Membership

Membership of the Combustion Institute is open to anyone who is interested in combustion research. We have members who are physical chemists, fuel technologists, fluid dynamicists, engine designers, fire scientists, environmental scientists, mechanical and aerospace engineers, detonation specialists and fire fighters, to name a few.


Institute members receive discounts on all the functions and publications of the Institute. Additionally, members of the Australian and New Zealand Section receive a complimentary copy of the proceedings of the Australian Combustion Symposium.
